For drag strips I will use a pair of Phantom F-4 landing brake parachutes, because I must to stop FAST!!
This parachutes gives you a tremendous brake force, being the brake force greater than the acceleration, you can see here how the Green Mamba jet car makes a "wheelie" at the parachute opening.
I got some surplus new Phantom F-4 parachutes that I must to test with care before use at full speed, this parachutes are extremely strong and are of the blind type and this are almost the standard with the Jet cars like the one shown here.

......

For the Bonneville runs I will use smaller progressive braking parachutes, because the speed is greater and the deceleration must be progressive, using one size parachute to brake from 450 mph down to 250 and other size from 250 mph to stop.
Here the braking is more gentle because you have many and many miles to brake, ask Craig Breedlove, that his two parachutes failed an ended in a pond in the lake many years ago.
For the brakes I will use any good brand metallic racing brake pads with disk brakes in the four wheels with double calipers per disc, double brake line circuit and two master brake pumps.
