DS2500
Street/Track
Street Use/ Limited Track Use
|
The DS2500 has a friction level of
approximatively 0.50 this remains constant at any speed and at any
temperature that the brake system is working
at.
The DS2500
compound is designed for racing applications thanks to its excellent
speed and temperature sensitivity characteristics.
|
The main characteristics of DS2500 are:
-Race
developed
-Performs equally well on heavy and light
cars
-20% less pad wear than competitive
products.
-Minimal bedding-in. Supplied ready to
use.
-Disc friendly.
-Consistent friction level with
changing temperatures and speeds to give optimal pedal
modulation.
-High friction level at low temperature (good
cold braking).
-High friction level at very high
temperatures.
-35% less compressability than competitive
products (racing pedal feel).
-Less noise for increased
driving comfort

DS3000
Race
Race Use
Only
|
DS3000 is the
FERODO RACING compound that has set the braking standard from race
one back in the 1998 season. DS3000 has contributed to countless
wins and podium positions in many Touring car and GT championships
around the world. When
using this material with light inertia racing cars, as a general
rule, it is necessary to apply less brake pedal pressure than you
would normally expect. This will avoid over-braking and generation
of excessive heat in the braking system and discs.
|
The main characteristics of
DS3000 are:
-Reduced bedding-in time (approximately 50%
quicker than other materials)
-Extremely high friction level (0.62 coefficient of
friction) at any temperature or speed.
-Higher initial bite
-Predictability, in all
conditions, when braking into the corner because of the flat
friction curve.
-Less off-brake
between the brake pedal and throttle. |
DS3000 Plus
+03
Race Use Only
|
DS3000 Plus was developed by FERODO for extreme
braking conditions. An exceptionally high
coefficient of friction (0.68) is achieved while maintaining the
same flat µ as DS3000.
The pad life
is increased by 15 to 20% in most applications. "Plus" material has
an extremely high initial bite yet is consistent in providing the exceptional
properties of DS3000. This material is used in SuperTurismo, Nascar,
Champ Car, Indy Light, Formula Nippon, Formula 3000, DTC and many
other international Series.
 |
The main characteristics of the DS3000 Plus
compound are:
-Reduced bedding-in time (equal to
DS3000)
-Extremely high friction level (0.68 coefficient of
friction) at any temperature or speed.
-Higher initial bite
-Predictability, in all conditions, when braking
into the corner because of the flat friction
curve
-Less off-brake
between the brake pedal and throttle
-Less residual torque |
DS3000 Endurance
Race Use Only
|
While maintaining the superior characteristics of
the DS3000, FERODO "Endurance" material has been formulated to provide for extended material / rotor
life in events of 3 to 6 hours in length. While slightly less aggressive (0.52), this material
manages the same flat µ for consistent predictability while still
providing a very high initial bite.
 |
The main characteristics of the DS3000 Endurance compound
are:
-Reduced bedding-in time (equal to
DS3000)
-Extended life for endurance races
-Extremely
high friction level (0.52 coefficient of friction) at any
temperature or speed.
-High initial
bite
-Predictability, in all conditions, when braking into
the corner because of the flat friction curve.

DS 1-11
Race Use
Only
 |
Several brake
pads on the market boast “ceramic” technology. DS1.11 is the
real thing. It is based upon a chemical family known as Siloxanes.
Unlike carbon based materials, siloxane chains do not decompose at
high temperatures and so DS1.11 keeps on working
up to the highest temperatures a brake pad could ever see.
That means it won’t fade and has excellent life, the best in the
Ferodo Racing range. Moreover the performance
remains exactly the same throughout the pad’s (long) life. It
is formulated to provide a very flat friction profile at a
medium/high level of friction. The pad compression is very low,
always, and so pedal travel is short and
consistent.
 |
The main
characteristics of DS1.11 are:
-High coefficient
of friction (0,50) at all speeds and
temperatures
-Excellent life of pad and disc
-High initial bite
-Predictability
and control because of the unvarying torque output
-Low off-brake
drag/Excellent release
-Unvarying performance throughout pad
life
-Firm pedal.

DS 2-11
Race Use Only
 |
DS2.11 is the sister compound to DS1.11 and shares many
of its characteristics, as they are based on the same Siloxane
technology. DS2.11 pad life is slightly lower than DS1.11, but one
of its additional noteworthy features is an extremely high bite and
friction coefficient. It is especially recommended for rally (WRC
race proven), but is suitable for any other application where very
high friction, bite and a rising torque profile are
desired.
DS2.11 is recommended for rally applications
and sprint races.
|
The main
characteristics of DS2.11 are:
-Excellent disc life and
condition
-No fade; strong
torque profile
-Good pad
life
-Low off-brake
drag/excellent release
-Unvarying
performance throughout pad life |
DS 4003
Race Use Only
|
4003 is a compound that was specifically developed for light inertia cars
(Formula 3, Formula Ford, Formula Opel, Formula Vauxhall, Formula
Renault, Formula Campus…) and Rally use. 4003 is the most commonly
used pad, across the world, in F3 championships. 4003 can also be used in the rear axle of front
traction racing cars (off road,
asphalt, track).
|
The main characteristics of
4003 are:
-Short bedding-in time
-High friction level
of 0.48 at any speed or temperature
-Excellent initial
bite
-Predictability and
reliability when braking into the corner |
